about
This track was created in October of 2019 when Lu and I tried collaborating for the first time. Lu sang over the beat for awhile while I recorded, and then I arranged Lu's improvised lyrics into the song's arrangement. I love this song's message, and we hope that it finds you well :)
lyrics
Why does my body matter,
There’s too much twitter chatter
Why does my matter matter?
I am the colors of this life that we’re living in
I am the colors of the eye, can you see within?
I am the colors converted by my mind
I am the colors converted by my mind
(She might be something of a mystery)
Why does my body matter,
There’s too much twitter chatter
Why does my matter matter?
Mirrors. I stare for hours. My image is shifting.
My eyes are filled with tears because I feel different.
Who are you if you’re not in her crew? She doesn’t really care if you don’t know how to be funny, how to make money.
Be like the beauty queens of the 70s.
No longer worrying. She’s found her perfect size,
There’s nothing more than the torment in her mind.
Why don’t you see that you’re like colors in the sky?
(She might be something of a mystery, everyone wants to get to know her)
All the things that make her her, she does not know her worth.
And the question I ask, what’s up with that? What’s up with this?
In a system. Treating our women like they’re objects.
Treating them like they are on offense.
I am the colors of this life that we’re living in
I am the colors of my mind, can you see within?
(She might be something of a mystery, everyone wants to get to know her)
I am me.
I am just the colors of my matter, I just feel the world get sadder.
Why does my body matter,
There’s too much twitter chatter
Why does my matter matter?
Why does my body matter,
There’s too much twitter chatter
Why does my body matter?
I try to be me.
I am just the colors of my mind, can you see within?
